Last evening I captured this (uncropped) image of the moon using Cameron’s Nikon D50 with a 2x teleconverter & 300mm Nikkor zoom lens.

Last Saturday we traveled about 5 hours with friends to attend a First Nations Church building dedication in Sudbury.  The Saturday evening service lasted about four hours, during which time there was singing and words of encouragement shared.

After the service we went out to eat with about 20+ people (among them our friends from Waskaganish who had also traveled down for the weekend).

The official dedication was at the end of the Sunday morning service, after which we shared in a potluck (which included moose and goose).

In his message “The Questions of a Man in Agony“, Ravi Zacharias quotes the following from G.K. Chesterton:

“My problem with life is not that it is rational, nor that it is irrational, but that it is almost rational.”

Hmmmm…I think he might be on to something there!

On Friday 40+ people gathered at our house for an evening of singing along with live banjo and guitar music.  We had a wonderful time together with our friends.  Of course, there was lots of food too!

According to the META data, this photo was taken three years ago today when we were at home in Quebec, with Ben (left) and the Garreau family visiting.

WildSanctuary.com has recently published overlays for both Google Earth and Maps which show the locations of (and allow you to listen to) a wide variety of natural audio recordings from around the world.

The free “Streaming Radio” in their Wild Store has categorized samples from their various recordings also.  Quite refreshing to listen to…especially “Distant Thunder.”

800px-IMG_0110 I recently came across an article about an amazing project called Fab@Home.  Basically, this inexpensive (relatively speaking of course) 3D Fabricator can be controlled by open-source software to “print” physical 3D models in a variety of materials.

On Friday we traveled to La Sarre to visit Ben and Melissa (and their new baby Jacob).  Temperatures in the 90’s and sunny skies also made for a great couple of days to be outside on the water in Ben’s boat.

Cameron and I were able to try waterskiing for the first time on Friday afternoon, and on Saturday morning Cameron was even able to get air jumping the wake!

We also successfully tried one ski.  Here is still of me from a video captured by Cameron.

The reflection of the sunset on Friday evening is warped in this photo by the wake from the boat.
