I recently came across an amazing site presented by Nikon.  Dubbed “Universcale“, this interactive flash tool provides a relative size chart of items ranging from the “microworld to the universe”.  Truly an awe-inspiring view of God’s creation:

For those of you with D-SLR cameras (like my brother Cameron & Ryan Watters) this looks like a neat idea…  LensHoods.co.uk provides a large variety of printable templates for lens hoods.

With spring break nearly here, a group of us decided to take a walk to nearby Eden Park this evening.

A couple of weeks ago David Gibbs spoke in one of our chapel services.  As the attorney who fought for Terri Schiavo, he shared the “inside story” from his eye-witness account of what really happened in her case.  He also distributed copies of his book, “Fighting for Dear Life“, which I have since read.  Here are just a few of the many notable passages I could quote from that book:

The quality of life advocate scratches his head and wonders, “How can a bedridden, brain-injured woman who can’t feed herself for fifteen years have a purpose?”  I’ll tell you how: God.  God doesn’t do anything without a grand design in mind.  While we may not understand or immediately see His plan, it’s there.  I do not believe it’s our job to question His purposes.  Instead, it’s our job to find His purposes in these situations.

…when we by simple faith step forward and say, “I am going to live what I say I believe,” at that point God will divinely empower and help us to do what must be done, even when it appears that what is required of us isn’t humanly possible.

In the closing chapter, Mr. Gibbs solemnly proclaims:

Sloppy Christian living is killing our testimony.

The vast majority of Bible-believing people neglect to faithfully study God’s Word, seek His face through prayer, and make choices about life and living that reflect His priorities.  This is how Paul described the spiritual bankruptcy of his day: “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him” (Titus 1:16a).  Sounds like us doesn’t it?  Is it any wonder that we’re not experiencing the revival that our nations needs?

Here is another photo from my unicycle ride last week.

Also, if you click on the image you should be able to experience my newly installed “lightbox” plugin.  Thanks for the idea Bart!

This action should now work with all images on this blog…

For some reason my last theme was throwing an (albeit insignificant) error.  I guess this will be the theme until I solve the problem…or I find something else I like better!

No, I didn’t say “My,,,”!

I was recently presented with a powerful example of what is true love.  In a world where a person’s value/worth is often measured by beauty, fame or fortune, the Biblical wordview that life is a sacred gift from God stands in stark contrast.

Yesterday, while out distributing fliers with my Pastor, we stopped at a nursing home in northern KY to visit a parishioner.  When we arrived, her husband of 60 (yes, sixty) years was at her bedside…just like he has been for four hours every day since she was admitted more than two and a half years ago.  Though she is mostly unresponsive to his daily presence much of the time, he continues to faithfully stand by the vows he made to her six decades ago!  Surely this is an example of what true love looks like in action.

Last evening I went with Zach and a couple other guys to the trail around Lunken Airport.  We made quite the crew: two on bikes, one on a unicycle and one on rollerblades.

…uni au Canada, naturellement!

Anyway, while out driving last Saturday, I was surprised to see this street sign in one of Cincinnati’s outlying suburbs.

With the recent switch to a WordPress-powered blog I am now able to take full advantage of Windows Live Writer*: a free downloadable blog post editor.  It’s built-in tools also make posting photos fast and simple.
